The steps, from order to plates
- Sourcing in the United States. Choosing the version (Cybertruck AWD or Cyberbeast), checking the vehicle's history and condition.
- Sea freight. Container shipping to Europe, then on to Switzerland.
- Customs clearance. 8.1% VAT on the vehicle and shipping value, the 4% automobile duty, customs fees.
- Conversion. Lighting, signalling and equipment brought to Swiss and European standards.
- Cantonal inspection. Full examination by the road traffic office.
- Registration and delivery. Plates, papers, and key handover at your door.
Pitfalls to avoid
Damaged vehicles. The US market is full of discounted Cybertrucks with a salvage title. Without a serious history check, the bargain becomes a money pit.
Sloppy conversion. An approximate conversion fails the cantonal inspection, and every new attempt costs time and money. The work has to meet the Swiss technical ordinance on the first pass.
